Here’s an interesting article in Wales Online about the bizarre implications of the 2003 Licensing Act – Welsh harpists would need a licence to perform at a street party, but Morris Dancers don’t! In Morris Dancers offer live music loophole for Royal Wedding parties, Rhodri Clark explains that The Act exempts the performance of “Morris Dancing or any dancing of a similar nature or the performance of unamplified, live music as an integral part of such a performance”.
